DALLAS, Tx ., Feb. 27 - Last Friday’s Smart Wear vendor show at Caruth Haven Court was a complete success.  The show proved to be a great opportunity to draw new customers and promote the brands innovative adaptive clothing line.

According to Smart Wear’s co-founder LeaAnn Yost, last weeks show was one of the most successful in terms of overall sales and brand exposure.

“We had a great turn-out, everyone we talked to was very interested in what we were doing.  In fact, Caruth Haven asked us to come back later this month to personally show our line to the resident's families.  It’s a good sign for things to come,” Yost said.

As the Company looks to continue increasing exposure, it’s also gearing up to rollout a new line of women’s blouses, which are expected to be available for purchase early this April.

Both of Smart Wear’s founders, Yost and Yost’s grandfather George Brewer are extremely excited about the lines expansion, and agree that the brand’s recent aggressiveness will pay off in the end.

Smart Wear’s website designer and marketing consultant, Jennifer Sebby commented saying, "We recently implemented a more dynamic marketing plan to help push our clothing line.  Considering the success of our last vendor show, we look to continue with that, but we plan to increase our web presence as well.  Using social media sites like Facebook and Twitter is a great, cost effective way to reach consumers, and we aim to capitalize on those opportunities.”

Smart Wear’s recent marketing push comes at an opportune time, as the company sits atop the ‘fashion-wellness’ market.  Currently, Smart Wear is the only company that offers adaptive, buttonless and zipperless clothing – with the right balance of product rollout and promotion the company stands to experience serious growth.

DALLAS, Tx., Feb. 17 - Wednesday afternoon marked another successful vendor show for the up-and-coming Smart Wear Clothing line.  The Dallas based company, which was created roughly six months ago, has capitalized on a unique fashion niche – ‘health-wellness fashion.’

While Smart Wear’s goal to provide classic, stylish clothing is not necessarily unique in and of itself, its chief commitment to alleviate the discomfort and pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis and neuropathy is.

Each piece of Smart Wear clothing is outfitted with a set of Velcro closures sewn in behind traditional buttons and zippers, giving users the “look” of conventional clothing without the difficulty of actually fastening them.  To-date, Smart Wear stands as the only company to produce and market false-button and false-zipper clothing.

It’s obvious how Smart Wear benefits those who actually wear it, but the lines convenient fastening alternative offers care-providers a breath of fresh air as well.

“The concept is really innovative - all the pieces are easy for patients to put on, but even easier for those, like me, who struggle to dress them.  A lot of people in the health-care profession will benefit from it,” nursing colleague Lisa Sanchez said.

The companies founder and co-president, LeaAnn Yost has served as a rehabilitation nurse for more than 15 years - during which time, she has developed a personal conviction to easing the onset of arthritis and neuropathy.

“It’s hard watching my patients struggle to dress themselves, and after working with them for a while you can’t help but develop strong relationships.  I really wanted to help in another way,” Yost said.

According to a recent study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly 50 million Americans suffer from some debilitating form of arthritis. Unfortunately, the outlook for the aging ‘baby boomer’ generation is daunting and the number of diagnoses is projected to double over the next 10 years.

“It’s kind of bittersweet, but I do see this becoming a major market trend as me and my friends inch closer to retirement,” local businessman, Geoff Willey joked.  “Hopefully I still have a couple of years before I have buy it (Smart Wear), but when the times come, I will certainly look into it.”

Currently, Smart Wear sales are limited to local vendor shows and the companies website, but Yost already has plans to open retail outlets as early as December of this year.

She commented, saying “We already have a working blueprint, now it’s just a matter of getting the word out, maintaining productive client relationships and laying a solid foundation.”

LeaAnn Yost - co-founder & co-president Smart Wear Clothing

DALLAS, Tx., Feb. 15 - Less than six months after founding the Smart Wear clothing line from her home office in Murphy, Tx., LeaAnn Yost has established a small but lucrative niche in health-wellness and fashion.

Yost, co-founder of Smart Wear and physical rehabilitation nurse for more than 15 years, recalls her ‘ahh-ha’ moment as unexpected and life changing  – but, it’s the source of her inspiration that touches members of the senior community and continues to fuel her appetite for success.

“During my nursing career, I have witnessed and experienced the difficulties of individuals who, due to nerve damage, neuropathy, stroke and arthritis simply can’t dress themselves, and worse, don’t have the option to wear anything but hospital gowns and sweats, it’s sad.”

Most of Yost’s customers are seniors, but some, like 41 year-old Mary Foster, are middle-aged rehab patients who use Smart Wear to supplement their rehab program.

“Mary’s situation is a perfect example of our products versatility; she was recovering from invasive bilateral rotator cuff surgery and was in need of adaptive clothing.  It felt great to help keep her life on track during the rehabilitation process,” Yost said.

While her patient’s hardships certainly offer ample motivation, Yost draws most of her passion and personal conviction from her grandfather George Brewer, a 94 year-old war veteran who served under General Patton.  Despite his age, Brewer’s ambition is fully intact, as he is currently an active co-founder of the Smart Wear operation.

“My grandfather has given so much to me, my family and the community.  I really wanted to give something back to him that could make his life easier and more comfortable.  It was hard watching him struggle into and out of clothing.  So, as a team, we decided to devote ourselves to finding a practical solution,” Yost said.

When asked about his granddaughter’s success, Brewer smiled with admiration saying, “I couldn’t be more proud, serving under Patton wasn’t easy, but it makes living with arthritis look like child’s play.”  He went on jokingly; saying Smart Wear has given back his ‘snazzy’ sense of style he had during his hay-day.

Luckily, Brewer no longer has to go sans-swag as Smart Wear offers a wide range of stylish, quality made adaptive clothing for men and women.  Each piece of Smart Wear clothing has Velcro closures that are sewn in behind traditional buttons and zippers, giving users the “look” of conventional clothes without the difficulties of actually fastening them.  The brand’s line includes; dress shirts, dress pants and specialty items for all shapes, sizes and tastes.  Smart Wear Clothing can be purchased at weekly vendor shows or on the companies website.
